BMS Ltd were responsible for the design and build of this project to install all mechanical services into a brand new three storey office block and included the following services:

  • VRF heating and cooling system to all office space
  • Ventilation systems
  • WC Extract systems
  • Boosted Mains Cold Water serving core areas
  • Public health services to core areas
  • Rainwater Harvesting System
  • Dedicated Computer Room Split Cooling Systems
  • Dry riser installation
  • Priva BMS Controls System

BMS Ltd supplied and installed the above services for the 4500mē offices which was to be occupied by NFU Mutual. The office space was designed specifically for the client with various meeting rooms, cellular offices, comms rooms, breakout areas and seminar rooms. Construction started on the site in March 2007 and the project was completed in April 2008.

Heating and cooling to the office space was provided by a number of Mitsubishi Heat recovery VRF systems that provided conditioned air to the offices via void mounted ducted fan coil units. A number of small dedicated Comms and Patch Room splits were installed across the three floors to provide adequate cooling to the data rooms.

Ventilation was provided to the space via 2 No. Colman Moducel air handling units located within the basement car parks and ductwork was distributed to the offices to serve the numerous fan coil units.

The two cores of toilets were served by dedicated Nuaire twin extract fans located on the roof providing extraction to all toilets at the specified extract rate via ceiling mounted air valves.

A new boosted MCW installation was provided complete with break tank located within the car park area and provided BMCW to all toilet and kitchen areas. All Sanitaryware was installed as per the architects requirements to a high standard to meet the clients expectations.

All mechanical services and metering was controlled by a Priva BMS control system which incorporated a head end PC offering the client a simplistic but effective way of controlling and monitoring their mechanical services.
