BMS Ltd were responsible for the supply and installation of 15 No. City Multi outdoor heat recovery units and 252 ducted indoor units as part of a VRF system for the three storey building.
There were also 8 No. Mitsubishi wall mounted Mr Slim split systems serving Peugeots numerous IT Rooms.

The offices had been specifically designed to meet Peugeots requirements and consisted of cellular offices, open plan offices, training rooms and meeting rooms. To control this environment the cellular spaces were provided with local wall mounted controllers allowing the occupants full control of the comfort cooling/heating.

In addition to this a number of G50 centralised controllers were installed offering a central point to monitor and control the air conditioning and in turn this was then linked to the buildings central control system.

VRF SYSTEMS PROVE ENERGY EFFICIENT, ADAPTABLE AND RELIABLE FOR PEUGEOT’S SUNBEAM HEADQUARTERS

The headquarters of Peugeot Citroen Automobiles UK Ltd has moved into new state-of-the-art premises at Pinley House, Sunbeam Way, Coventry. The development will benefit from a whole host of environmentally friendly design features including a variable refrigeration system and thermal heatwave recuperators from Mitsubishi Electric. Installers BMS air conditioning supplied and fitted 15 large City Multi outdoor units and 252 ducted indoor units as part of a VRF system for the three storey building.

The City Multi heat recovery system is designed for today’s building requirements, being energy efficient, adaptable and reliable. It uses inverter-driven technology to provide only the power necessary to match the exact requirement of each individual area - making them more sustainable by maximising energy efficiency to minimise CO2 emissions. BMS provides a full service which encapsulates the air conditioning systems ranging from single split installations to large scale VRF / VRV and close control systems incorporating all the latest technologies in accordance with the latest regulations. Contract Manager Caid Hewitt said:

“We know Peugeot to be dedicated to meeting the latest buildings regulations, while ensuring it provides comfortable, controllable and energy efficient air conditioning with no exceptions. The occupiers should benefit from comfortable working conditions which provide long-term energy savings. We will be managing maintenance for the next 12 months which should prove straightforward and unobtrusive, thanks to elements of the set up such as the use of branch connector boxes.”

Consisting of office space for over 500 employees, the development also houses a technical centre and a sports pavilion. It’s striking finish with solar-powered exterior Venetian blinds are automatically synchronised to respond to the path of the sun, minimising the use of internal lighting during the day and reducing solar heat gain.

“If we act responsibly we can make a positive contribution to sustainability and Parkridge Developments certainly paid attention in the planning stages of the new Peugeot build” said Mitsubishi Electric Commercial Director Donald Daw.
“New building guides favour using natural ventilation, passive solar designs, use of sustainable drainage, and rainwater harvesting; as well as decentralised energy supply as a mainstay of its carbon reduction policies. This includes the use of combined heat and power as well as combined cooling, heat and power. The VRF system goes some way to support these requirements,” he added. Mitsubishi Electric is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of heating and cooling equipment and is an accepted Partner of the European Commission’s Sustainable Energy campaign. Having pioneered the use of energy efficient air conditioning, it is dedicated to improving environmentally friendly alternatives.
